各位市民,請參與3月2日「反暴力 緝真兇 保法治」大遊行
On 26 February 2014, former Ming Pao Chief Editor Kevin Lau Chun-to sustained multiple knife injuries in a brutal attack carried out in broad daylight. Such a blatant act of lawlessness conducted in a public place is a naked challenge to Hong Kong’s security and rule of law. As members of the news media in Hong Kong, we are outraged.
In response, a group of news media organisations have formed the Press Coalition Against Violence. We hope to gather the news industry’s collective strength to strongly urge the Police to capture the assailants as quickly as possible and to uncover the mastermind(s) of the crime. The coalition is holding a rally and march on Sunday 2nd March at 1.00 pm to demonstrate its united voice.
Members of the news industry and the general public, who are asked to dress in black, should arrive before 1.00 pm at the space in front of the East Wing of the Central Government Office in Admiralty (commonly referred to as Civic Square). The coalition will then hold a simple rally and read out a statement. This should take 15 minutes, after which, participants will march along Queensway to the Police Headquarters.
After arriving at the Police Headquarters, organisers will hand the coalition’s statement, together with signatures from the public, to the Police representative.
