The 17th Annual Human Rights Press Awards open for entry soon. These are Asia’s most prestigious honors recognizing outstanding reporting of human rights. Entries must be as they actually appeared or were aired, and must have been published between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2012. All entries must relate to Hong Kong or the Asian region.
The competition is open to (1) journalists working for Hong Kong and Macau news media, and (2) correspondents based in Asia. Submissions must be in either English or Chinese. Categories include newspapers, magazines, editorials & commentary, radio, TV, photography, cartoons and online publishing. Photography is judged separately.
IMPORTANT: Each entry must clearly cite the specific Article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that the work seeks to address. Any entry failing to meet this criterion will be disqualified.
